Dent Church of England VA Primary School Vision Statement

Our vision is for all of our community to be
Joyful & Equipped to Succeed & Serve.

Joyful – We want everyone in our community to be happy in and out of school, to have a deep-rooted sense of joy in life and to be content and comfortable with who they are.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.”

Psalm 139:14

Equipped to Succeed – We want our children to leave school with a solid body of knowledge and skills to allow success in the rest of their education and lives.  Beyond the curriculum, we want our children to be equipped with a love of learning and the personal skills & resilience to flourish in the face of life’s challenges.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord…”

Colossians 3:23-24

Equipped to Serve – We want our everyone to leave our school with our Christian values deeply engrained. As inclusive and compassionate people, they will contribute to their communities and challenge injustice, knowing that they can make a difference to the lives of others.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

 1 Peter4:10

Christian Values

Our Christian Values are:

Wisdom, Trust, Service, Justice, Compassion, Endurance & Forgiveness.

Each year we have an overarching value which we are exploring and each half-term we have a focus value in our collective worship and school life.

We make sure that our values shape everything we do across the curriculum and wider school life.

Last half-term our focus value was Justice. Our collective worship ‘working wall’ below recorded some of the activities we explored.

This half term (Autumn 2, 2022) our value is Wisdom. We are exploring what wisdom, how it is different from knowledge, and what impact it will have on our lives if we grow in wisdom.
